Dog Training Basics

If you have a dog, wouldn’t you want your pet buddy to act disciplined and obedient to make you proud while your dog tags along with you?
Dogs can be trained and the better they are trained, the happier they become because they can interact with their master well and they get a good pat, which they perceive as sign of appreciation.
Why is there a need to train your dog? For one, dogs are safer when they are trained. |
Also, because of community requirements, you should own a well-trained dog so the neighborhood will be safe. These reasons are important, especially if you own fierce dogs like a Rottweiler or a Pitbull.
If you have kids around the house, they will grow up to be more compassionate and caring if you have a well-trained dog that they can pet and play with. Your kids are your most important reason why you have to properly tame or train your dog to keep them safe from dog bites, which can be deadly.
Take heed of the following basic commands so you can let your dog get to listen to you:
- Heel — this is training your dog to walk beside you without advancing or lagging.
- Answering to NO commands — this is what dogs should learn so they will get the notion of restraints.
- Sit — every dog training program is never without this word.
- Stay — by telling your dog to stay, your buddy learns the concept of being still at your command.
- Down — this command is not just a trick, but a key element of getting your dog to listen, just like in any effective dog training.
As you start to train your dog, you develop a bond with it. As pack animals, they listen to the one who leads them. See yourself as the leader of the pack and your dog will begin to listen.
Since dogs are laborious animals, they are up to the task of your every command. Before, humans trained dogs to guard properties, help look after the herd, and protect people. If you will not train your dogs to be active, your dogs can grow idle and lazy and become wild and sick eventually. Breeds such as Collies and German Shepherds are high energy dogs that love to keep action in their skins. Training these dogs is a form of exercise for them that they should see as fun and play while bonding with their owners.
